This Open Day we are very excited to be presenting some special guests and a new collection of materials about the Australian chapter of the Daughters
of Bilitis, later called the Australasian Lesbian Movement (1970-73).
Phyllis Papps and Francesca Curtis were both involved in running the group
and will be our guests to present this new collection which includes a
near complete set of the ALM newsletters, a scrapbook maintained for ALM over
1970-72, audio recordings of televisions interviews conducted by Francesca
and Phyllis in 1970, and an interview recently conducted for ALGA's oral
history project.
We are extremely lucky to hold this unique collection of one of
Australia's first openly homosexual groups and look forward to sharing it with you.

We are also very happy to present Dr Catherine Barrett who will share the
findings from a recent study conducted by the Matrix Guild of Victoria and
Vintage Men (and funded by the Reichstein Foundation).
In particular Catherine will share stories highlighting the importance of
history in shaping senior's experiences of aged care.
