As a Mum, I am shocked to learn from our own experience just how bad discrimination
is for gays, and hospital staff like nurses just don´t care even when other patients are appalled at the dreadful treatment being given. It´s like they have no shame or care!
Is it true that they are more interested in their long weekends than in looking after the people that pay their salaries? Is it true that if you complain then nurses take it out on the patient and band together to hide errors that might effect the hospital?
When our son was in hospital the staff were rude to me when I phoned and asked questions. When it came time to discharge it was a very kind cleaning lady at the hospital
who helped our son to his taxi in his wheelchair, which he had to call for himself. Where were the Nurses, Social workers and other support staff, at lunch?
I know from my friend who is a nurse that transport & help is always provided for other
patients, but not for our son he had to call for his own cab, this
very kind lady was absolutely disgusted to see our son treated like this.
I know from our own experience as parents of gay sons only too well of just
how bad discrimination is out there, we get ostracized & treated like we are
less than human beings & from another planet but I had no idea that people
trained in the medical profession would be so ignorant & cruel, it is heart
breaking.
Yes it`s 2009 nothing has changed for our family & our struggle for equal
rights will continue to go on.
The Pope`s xmas message to the world in 2008 was that Homosexuality must be
stamped out, I thought Christians weren`t to be judgemental, I can only hope
that his followers are not so weak & unintelligent to be influenced by this
disgraceful message.
God doesn`t have any trouble loving gays.
Please remember that all people have a right to be
here, don`t let the cruel ignorance & horrible treatment of others drag you
down, it does not go against you, they must wear their cruelty to fellow
human beings.
Where ever you are in the world please walk tall & be proud, being born gay
is no different than someone being born left handed.
Please keep up the struggle in life & don`t ever give up the fight, no
matter what.
From a very caring Mum who absolutely loves unconditionally, my family,
straight & gay are my life.
