Oh Dear, Il Papa has decided to let loose his pet Congregation for the Causes of the Rotweillers! Sure, 'Gay Marriage is Evil is primarily designed to interfere in Italian Politics, but it does raise some interesting concepts that bear thinking about!

In 1099, after a 2 year crusade across Europe, the Pope inspired Crusaders conquered Jerusalem. All the occupants were butchered in an apocalypse of pillage, bloodshed and slaughter!

All of this was accompanied by the war cry "God Wills It".

For nearly 50 years from approx 1209, Phillip of France and his Captive Pope inspired Crusade against the French Cathars, a sect of mystic or gnostic Christians, again butchering everyone in Sight!

In 1233 the Dominican (inspired) Inquisition was set up to subdue and repress all heretics, anyone with an opinion and/or who disagreed with Il Papa!

It begs the question Did God Change or Did Society's standards Change and force the Church to 'modify' it's brainwashing, conversion and money collection strategies? Clearly, The Rock of Mystic Rhinestones (and Drag Advice) upon which the Church rests, the Bible, has not changed much since translation of ancient texts was non-monopolised and privatised.

What history demonstrates is that this is another example of an anachronistic, archaic, theocracy instigating a campaign against a minority group. Time and Time again the Church has demonstrated it's capacity for copernican revolutionary turnarounds when there is a need to save the bacon! Clearly, The Institutional Church is as much concerned with money as it is with control of the intelligensia!

Quite Simply, Il Papa is Wrong. The lesson for us Queers, is that those of us who are interested in human rights need to be vigilant in ensuring that this kind of 'institutionalised bullying campaign tactic' is not imported (and normalised) within our organisations by those with (hidden) personal faith agendas and/or committment to brainwashing!!
